The Henry County Library is proud to announce that it has paid off the loan for the Lenora Blackmore Branch Library two years earlier than anticipated. The Lenora Blackmore Library merged with the Henry County Library back in 2009. In 2012, the Lenora Blackmore Branch Library moved into its current building at 105 W Benton Ave. At that time, rather than request a tax increase from the community, the Henry County Library decided to take out a loan to pay the $720,000 cost for the building and new furniture and materials. The loan was scheduled to be paid off by the end of 2021. Due to a continued policy of responsible fiscal spending, the Henry County Library was able to pay off the loan this spring. In coming years the extra money in the budget that will no longer go to loan payments will be put towards improvements at the Windsor location.
