CHECK OUT THE HENRY COUNTY LIBRARY

ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE…A MINI CAFÉ
Several years ago, the Henry County Library sent out a community survey in order to get feedback from citizens in order to write a five year strategic plan. One of the questions asked:
What would you like to see in the library?
We received hundreds of answers and many of them shared a similar theme: coffee shop, café, vending machines, coffee, snack bar.
Over the past four months, the library has been embarking on a project to fulfill this community wish. We are happy to announce that our mini café area in the reference section is now up and running. Please come and check it out!
The project was completed through a series of steps. First, we had to clear out the shelving and magazines that were currently occupying the area. The magazines were donated to the Friends of the Library and sold through a series of special sales. The shelves were moved to different areas of the library. The carpeting was replaced with laminate tile. New outlets were installed to give patrons who are using the area plug-in options. A vending machine which sells snacks and drinks, was added. A granite counter top was installed along with a water line. An industrial Keurig was set-up along with a K-cup dispenser. K-cups can be purchased for $1.00. New tables and chairs were added and finally the project was completed!
Now patrons can enjoy snacks and coffee at the library without ever having to leave the building. Our goal is to make the library as welcoming and comfortable as possible. We hope all of you will enjoy the new mini-café. This is just one more way that the Henry County Library continues to evolve and innovate to meet the ever changing needs of our community.
